But what is the sector skills alliance for?

We participated in the closing conference of SKILLCO in Ljubljana.

If you remember, we announced in May that we were involved in the Sector Skills Alliance, SKILLCO, which is also being implemented under Erasmus+ but its focus is on the development of a specific economy sector (in our case: construction).

A quick reminder: SKILLCO is an innovative project launched by participating partner institutions (from Germany, Slovenia, Hungary and Belgium) to address skills gaps in the construction and building industry.

Besides of vocational training, project management is our favorit field of expertise, we were absolutely delighted to carry out the evaluation of the work and its outputs of the three-year partnership. Let’s face it: it is not a small challenge, but that is how we like them! 🙂

This time the seventh international meeting of the project was held in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, which was a very good choice due to its romantic and peaceful atmosphere. As the work of the Sector Skills Alliance is slowly coming to an end, the focus this time was on the achieved results and new, innovative educational solutions. Of course, in line with the challenges of the modern age, these were methods and innovations that not only are accessible to students but also contribute to the strengthening of their competences.

Achievements of the project include SkillgApp which is a mobile application for anyone to download, we also got to know its features at the conference.

The two-day event ended quickly and successfully, and we could again learn a lot from recognized professionals who with this project contribute to meet the challenges of European vocational education and the labor market and to contribute to the availability of qualified professionals in the construction sector in the European Union.
